I’M SO HAPPY YOU ARE HERE!
My approach is not an overnight total body transformation or a diet that only works when you deprive yourself. I don’t believe in short-term fixes or relying on motivation and willpower to get you through.
I believe in creating a system and environment that supports your health goals. My focus is on small daily habits that build up to massive results over time. It’s the consistency that matters.
I know what it’s like to struggle to find the time to exercise, or make food choices that don’t feel good. But feeling guilty and beating yourself up in the hope you’ll feel motivated never works in the long run. So I’d love to help you find another way. One that isn’t based on restriction, shame and guilt.
MY STORY
I thought when I had my daughter I would bounce back to my old fitness levels. But I was in for a shock. I could barely do most of the Pilates exercises I used to teach. Added to this I became a single-parent when my daughter was 8-weeks old. Which meant no getting out to the gym, no Pilates classes and barely time to exercise at home.
I began to feel run-down all the time. I seemed to catch every cold and virus going. I was neglecting my diet but I was just so busy trying to manage on my own with a baby.
I decided I had to do something to take control back over my health. I began with a return to my love of Pilates. Even though it was difficult, I found I could squeeze in 10-20 minutes of practice on most days. What surprised me was how much progress I made with short workouts. I realised what mattered most was not the length of the workout but the consistency.
The second thing was changing to a plant-based diet. But not any plant-based diet, the diet principles followed by the people who live the longest healthiest lives in the world: The Blue Zones.
I discovered the Blue Zones in a copy of National Geographic from 2005, which I had ‘borrowed’ from my Dad’s bookshelves. I was captivated by the image on the front cover: an elderly Japanese gentleman looking perfectly poised in a headstand.
I knew my diet had to be one that created optimal health for the future and not just the latest trend. So I started to incorporate the principles and noticed a big turnaround in my health.
I found that small consistent actions made the biggest difference to my health and fitness. But it was about more than diet and exercise. It meant shifting my priorities to take care of myself first. Reducing stress, slowing down and making time to connect socially and spiritually.
